Fabulously soft and thick, this vintage Moroccan Beni Ouarain rug hails from the late 1950’s to early 1960’s. A handwoven, natural sheep’s wool area rug with large diamond pattern in natural dark brown-black wool. This traditional Berber rug is unusual for its contemporary size (being relatively small and more square in proportion). Traditionally, Beni Ouarain rugs were used by the Berbers as sleeping carpets during the winter months so tend to be much larger in scale.

This piece would be well suited to more modern homes where living space is limited. A really fabulous piece and it’s very hard to source vintage Moroccan rugs of this age, quality and size.
